it’s just me, doing everything.
I am Pierre-Félix, a designer that started a side bicycle business because I just love bicycles. I love how they look, I love what they do, I love what they represent.
Cycling is not just a mode of transportation, it is a way of thinking, a way of living differently, specially in a world where everything is designed for cars. So I build bicycles, I find cool and old beaten bikes and give them a new life. It’s therapeutic, sometimes frustrating but it always fill me with joy and satisfaction when I finish a bike.

how did it started?
Bikefélix started in January 2022. At the time I had been fixing and restoring vintage bikes for already 6 years. But at the beginning of this year, after a bit of pushing from my friends, I started an instagram account and began sharing my work to the rest of the world. It grew quickly and allowed me to make bikes for people all around London. I still don’t operate full time but bikefélix is now my treasured side hustle and I have many projects and things I want to bring to life!
why do I do it?
Repairing and restoring is a very satisfying process, sometimes almost therapeutic, I guess that is why I really enjoy it. There is also a political aspect to it, I simply refuse to see completely functional bikes goes to trash. It is also somehow a bit poetic, you are giving a new life to an object that has a story, it was used, maybe multiple times by different users, and with me it will continue to exist. But above all it’s a really fun thing to geek out and learn new things along the way.
building a bike
Creating a new bike requires a mix of new and second-hand parts, most of the components can be second-hand, a good set of wheels from 30 years ago, if properly serviced will still function as good in today’s world. Consumables are the main parts that needs to be sourced as new, since they wear out and needs to be replaced to ensure a smooth and safe ride experience.
custom parts
On top of making custom builds I also make custom parts for bikes. As an industrial designer it is something I really enjoy and I tinker a lot. Some of the parts I make end up being sold on my shop, some are free to download if you do have access to a 3D printer. So if you want to support me check out my shop!
VALUES
ethos & principles
Things that are very important to me
parts lifecycle
Every bit of bicycles that comes in the workshops get used or reused until there is absolutely no life left in them. Any excess, like cable cuts, spare chain links, gets stored and either given back to the community via freecycle or olio, or get reused for other projects. Parts that are too worn but still have a bit of life left in them are also given away so people can still use them. So what goes in the trash is really completely unusable.
bikes in stock
I operate in a very lean way, this allows me to be more flexible with my operations. I try as much as possible to not accumulate too many parts. That is why I run on low stocks, firstly because of space, but also to make sure I don’t hold parts for too long, if it is not being used, either someone might need it more than me, or I actually don’t need that part, hence why I also sell parts on various marketplaces.
chemicals and cleaning products
One big thing with upcycling old bike is cleaning, and cleaning requires a lot of different products, some more toxic than others. I am still in the process of testing different products to find the best balance between effectiveness without harming the environment.
pricing
I want to make sure everyone can get an affordable bike that looks good and works well. I don’t really have a fixed price structure but will adapt to your budget and constraints. I only do servicing on bicycles I sold and on rare occasions on specific vintage bicycles.
