Peugeot Magnum 800
1992
Retro MTB
Commuter bike
26inch
A true beauty! This bike was at the time my new commuter, I wanted something unique, something special so I went all in for exotic parts. Most of the parts were ordered from Bluelug in Japan, that's where those cool blue cantis and brakes come from. I fitted some super large tyres for maximum comfort, a super wide and relaxed Nitto Albatross handlebar and some super grippy MKS x Simworks Bubbly pedals. But the true hero of that build is the lovely Mavic SSC rear derailleur, probably my favourite of all time. Sadly the shifting wasn't as nice as I expected (it's a road derailleur after all) so it got swapped for a respectful Deore after a few rides. It is also worth noting that Columbus Peugeot are not super common so I was happy with that, the Magnum was the top of the range from the 1992 Peugeot bike catalog.
